You need: A TV that supports PAL signal, or a game that contains PAL video.

If you bought your TV in America, chances are it doesn't support PAL.

Anyway, just go into the global settings and under something like "Video Mode", instead of "Auto", change it to "Force NTSC60" or possibly just "Force NTSC".

There is no need to. They just permanently patch the video mode, but I prefer to keep the ISO clean.

It wont brick if you load via NEOGAMMA.
Updates are bypassed.
If you are going to use more then 20 games I suggest a HDD.
It's far superior to dvd backups.
