Wii ISO ripper TO PC

V This question was answered by stev418

I've seen posts of how to rip Wii .iso files using the wii, and they save to the SD card, but I'd like a program that will let me rip Wii .iso's using my computer's disc drive, so I can run them on my emulator as my Wii doesn't work right now. I've already tried All free iso ripper, and that doesn't work for me. Any ideas?

Only specific models of LG drives will rip a Wii ISO on your PC, and only in conjunction with the program Rawdump 2.0

The problem is these drives are now hard to find, last I checked ebay would not even allow them to be sold on site deeming them are "modchips etc" (I am in Australia and have a drive although with 2 working wii drives it is now obsolete so just sits on the kids computer) Unless your wiis disc drive is broken it is HIGHLY recommended to use wii based rippers such as cleanrip. Rawdump will take approx 45-90 mins to rip whereas cleanrip will be be more like 10-15 mins.

models you would need are:

LG GDR-8161b (IDE)(Hitachi)
LG GDR-8162b (IDE)(Hitachi)
LG GDR-8163b (IDE)(Hitachi)
LG GDR-8164b (IDE)(Hitachi)
LG GDR-H10NBLK (SATA)(Hitachi)

Snippet from Rawdump readme: "It might even work with other hitachi drives with GDR in their name (just try, but don't complain)."
